Opening nationwide on January 23rd,2009(in America) is the much anticipated prequel to the Underworld series "Underworld-Rise of the Lycans" in which fans will finally see the history of how the vampire and lycan war started. And no you won't be seeing a lot of Kate Beckinsdale (Selene) in this one.The story follows the path of the Vampire Elder Victor and his daughter Sonya,and the rebellion of their werewolf guardians and self appointed leader Lucian,who falls in love with Sonya.
